Mongol Derby August 2022

I fulfilled a life-long dream to be a jockey when I took up Point to Point racing (amateur horse racing over Steeplechase fences) aged 52 - when all other jockeys were in their teens ! After 50 races (and one win !!) I am long now retired from race riding, My middle name is Mungo so I guess I had no choice but to do the Mongolian Derby one day !! I am approaching the Derby with a mixture of terror and excitement.  I own a business that manufactures candles which I set up 20 years ago. I live near Tiverton Devon in England. My riding consists of hunting and 'riding out' race-horses most mornings, all rather larger than 13 hands! Hopefully the musical instrument that I play (best known in Scotland) will not frighten the Mongolia ponies to much !
